Where to Hang Your Zodiac Medallion — Nursery, Bedroom, or Living Room

The Zodiac Star-Map Medallion is 7.9 inches (200 mm) across and double-sided. That's small enough to fit anywhere but specific enough to deserve a thoughtful spot. Here's where we've seen it look best in three room types.

Nurseries and kids' rooms

Hang it above the changing table or above the crib at adult eye level (so you see it, the baby doesn't crane). The piece becomes the first thing visitors ask about, and it grows with the child — a 7-year-old can read the rim text. For a family with multiple kids, line up one per child. For new-parent gifts, this is the room.

Primary bedrooms

Above the dresser or on the wall opposite the bed (so you see it from the pillow). The piece is small enough not to dominate but distinct enough to be noticed; it does well in a slow, intimate room. If you have two medallions (you and your partner), hang them as a pair — front-side out on a shared wall.

Living rooms and entryways

The entryway works because guests notice it on the way in and ask questions. The living room works if you have a gallery wall — the medallion's circular form breaks up the rectangles of framed prints and gives the eye a place to rest. Avoid the spot directly above the TV; the screen brightness washes out the relief.

Lighting matters

The medallion has real raised relief, so it shines under directional light: a wall sconce, a picture light, or even morning sun coming through a nearby window. Flat overhead light kills the depth. If you can position it where light grazes across the surface at an angle, the relief texture pops.

The back side is the secret weapon
